"Ride To The Wall"
For the past 14 years, hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists from all over the world, join Rolling Thunder and gather in Washington, D.C. on Memorial Day weekend to demostrate for the full accounting of all POW-MIA's, veteran issues and honor the men and women who served in the Vietnam war. Especially to remember those who gave their lives for their country. The year 2001 is the 26th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam war. Over 400,000 people are expected to attend the ceremonies this year on the mall between the Washington Monument and Lincoln's Memorial. Sunday afternoon, Paul Revere & The Raiders will join the demonstration with a free musical tribute of classic rock and roll music from the 60's and 70's. Joining Paul Revere & The Raiders on stage will be Adrian Cronauer, the Armed Forces Radio disc jockey who the motion picture "Good Morning Vietnam" was based on. Miss America 2000, Heather French Henry will make a guest appearance. Her father is a veteran of the Vietnam war and she is founder of the Heather French Foundation for Veterans. Paul Revere & The Raiders are also releasing a brand new music CD titled "Ride To The Wall" which features new recordings of classic rock tunes from the Vietnam era and 3 original songs written by Vietnam veterans. All net proceeds from the sale of this CD are being donated to the Ride To The Wall Foundation, a non-profit foundation making funds available to various approved veteran's outreach programs.
